NAMI Central Oregon (NAMI-CO) is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all meeting and program participants and NAMI-CO staff. All participants, including, but not limited to, attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, NAMI-CO staff, service providers, and others are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct Policy. This Policy applies to all NAMI-CO meeting-related events, including those sponsored by organizations other than NAMI-CO but held in conjunction with NAMI-CO events, in public or private facilities. We expect all participants to abide by this Code of Conduct in all venues and formats, including in-person and virtual meetings, ancillary events, and all social gatherings.
It is the policy of NAMI-CO that all participants, including attendees, vendors, NAMI-CO staff, volunteers, and all other stakeholders at NAMI-CO meetings will conduct themselves in a professional manner that is welcoming to all participants, and free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. Participants will treat each other with respect and consideration to create a collegial, inclusive, and professional environment at NAMI-CO meetings. Participants will show consideration and respect in speech and actions and will refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
This Code of Conduct may be revised at any time by NAMI-CO and the terms are non-negotiable. Your registration for, or attendance at, any NAMI-CO event indicates your agreement to abide by this Policy and its terms.
Participants will avoid any inappropriate actions or statements based on individual characteristics such as age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, nationality, political affiliation, ability status, educational background, or any other characteristic protected by law. Disruptive or harassing behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, inappropriate or intimidating behavior and language, unwelcome jokes or comments, unwanted touching or attention, offensive images, photography without permission, and stalking, and disruption of presentations or events. Inappropriate posting in chat rooms or the use of offensive images will result in the termination of a participant’s registration. Any participant observed to be in violation will be immediately asked to leave the in-person and virtual/online meeting.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Sanctions may range from a verbal warning to ejection from the meeting without refund, to notifying appropriate authorities. Retaliation for complaints of inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated. If a participant observes inappropriate comments or actions, please contact a NAMI-CO staff person, who will work with appropriate NAMI-CO leadership to resolve the situation.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please notify us at info@namicentraloregon.org of any grievances so they may be addressed.
PARTICIPATION STATEMENT: NAMI-CO events are private, and NAMI-CO has the right to admit or deny entrance.
